Ramgarhia Council UK celebrates Ramgarhia Misl Day
Jaswinder Singh Gharial, Chairman of Siri Gurdwara Ramgarhia Railway, Nairobi, was honoured in Leicester, by the Ramgarhia Council UK in a colourful ceremony attended by over eight hundred Sikhs. The ceremony was held at Ramgarhia Center in Leicester on Monday 25th of May 2015, to commemorate the founding of Ramgarhia Misl by Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, a valiant Sikh General who headed the Ramgarhia Regiment in post Guru Gobind Singh Ji's era.
Jaswinder Singh Gharial addressed the gathering and inspired the youth to emulate the spiritual and leadership qualities of Maharaja Jassa Singh Ji.

Bhai Sahib Dr. Mohinder Singh Ji, honoured in Queen’s New Year list
Bhai Sahib Dr. Mohinder Singh, Chairman of the Nishkam group of charitable organisations based in Birmingham has been appointed Officer of British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his unstinting and inexorable work over forty years to promote peace and coexistence by bringing people of different faiths together to contribute to the common good of humanity.
Dr Mohinder Singh is the first British Sikh to receive the official title of “Bhai Sahib” from the highest religious Ministers (Jathedars) of the Sikhs’ spiritual and temporal seats of authority in India. Bhai Sahib means ‘a brotherly leader or one worthy of respect amongst the larger family of Sikhs’.
On the award in the Queen’s 2015 New Year Honours list, Bhai Sahib said, “It is a great personal honour to receive this prestigious award from Her Majesty the Queen, by the grace of God, the Defender of the Faith. All accolades are attributed to God Almighty who facilitates human puppets to perform. I have accepted this appointment on behalf of the founders and members of Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha (GNNSJ) and the wider communities that I am privileged to serve here in the UK and internationally.”
Vaisakhi Celebrations
Daily Kirtan Darbars by the visiting Jatha of Bhai Satwinder Singh Ji & Bhai Harvinder Singh Ji of Delhi that commenced on Monday 6th of April were well received by the Sadh Sangat who greatly appreciated the Gurbani recitals and discourse by the Jatha.
On Sunday 12th April, a Nagar Kirtan was organised by the Gurdwara committee as part of the ongoing Vaisakhi Celebrations. The procession left Gurdwara Landies at 10.30am en route to Gurdwara South C' where it reached at 12.00 noon. Bhai Satwinder Singh Ji's Jatha, Gurmat School children and Bhai Kulwinder Singh Ji's Jatha (Gurdwara Sikh Temple Pangani) enlightened the Sadh Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan throughout the procession.
Numerous well-wishers offered snacks and drinks to the amassed crowds in the parade. On arriving at Gurdwara South C', Bhai Satwinder Ji's Jatha recited Shabad Gurbani for the Sadh Sangat gathered in large numbers in the Guru Nanak Darbar.
