Sanjha Kirtan Diwan

About 250 children from various Gurdwaras of Nairobi took part in a Sanjha Kirtan Darbar to commemorate the Shahidi Divas of Siri Guru Arjan Devji on Sunday, 12/06/2016 at Siri Gurdwara Ramgharia Railway South C.  The event was organised by the Chairman Mr Jaswinder Singh Gharial and management of the Gurdwara in conjunction with the SGRR Gurmat School Wing. The nominated Member of Parliament, Honourable Sonia Birdi also graced the occasion and had valuable words of wisdom for the youthful gathering in the splendid Guru Nanak Darbar. Dignitaries and kirtan teachers from Gurudwara Nanaksar, Gurdwara Pangani, Gurdwara Bazaar and Gurdwara Juja Road were also present.  Kirtan was recited from 10.30am in the morning until 5.30pm in the evening. SGRR Istri Sabha Ladies Wing and Gurmat School parents/teachers prepared delicious Guru ka Langar for all. Certificates and tokens of appreciation were given to all the youngsters for their melodious contribution to the occasion. It was an amazing atmosphere blessed by the Almighty, as the children of between 3 – 18 years sang earnestly, accompanied by traditional musical instruments.  Earlier an Akhand Path, continuous rectitation from Siri Guru Granth Sahibji had been held from 8th june to 10th june 2016 to commemorate the martyrdom of the fifth Guru of the Sikhs. Guruji was an exemplary leader who bestowed upon us the values of Sacrifice, Peace, Tranquility and Integrity at all times.
